TEIGNMOUTH'S ladies are through to the next round of the Mail on Sunday knockout competition thanks to a 3½-1½ defeat of Dainton Park.

The team of Rosemary Watson, Janet Schofield, Audrey Reeve, Janet Turner, and Glynis Spearman had a difficult wind to contend with.

But it was a tremendous win for Teignmouth as the very strong Dainton side had already knocked out Churston.

Meanwhile, the ladies played an 18-hole stableford in biting cold winds which made scoring difficult.

Division One was topped by Glynis Spearman with 33 points on countback from Audrey Reeve.

In Divisions Two and Three, the winner was Margaret Brown with 30 points, ahead of Gillian Hepburn, Yvonne Bladon and Gay Cann with 26 each.
