THE number of free taster sessions being lined up is growing daily for the free, fun, family event which will celebrate the end of the first year of the successful Herald Express Lovelife campaign.

The taster sessions for fitness methods like Zumba, Cardio Combat, Jhoom, Total Body Work Out, Bootcamp and Aba and Stretch are part of a huge range of fitness and healthy lifestyle displays and information being organised at Torquay United's Plainmoor Ground.

The day will run from 1pm to 4pm on April 28, with an activity taking place throughout that time which anyone of all ages and ability can join in with.

There will also be displays by many of the sports and healthy lifestyle clubs and organisations from across the Bay.

Sports represented are expected to include netball, martial arts, swimming, rifle and pistol shooting, bowls, sea angling, rowing and indoor bowls.

Young football fans will be able to have a go at shooting for goal against Torquay United's youth players.

The event will celebrate the success of the loveLIFE campaign.

The afternoon is being organised by Roger Mann, of Torbay Sports Council. He said the programme was being drawn up with the aim of encouraging people to come along and find out what sports clubs and activities they have on our doorstep as well as have some fun for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon.

LoveLIFE partners, Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust, will have public health stands giving out information about giving up smoking, healthy eating, community fitness and alcohol awareness.

Sanctuary Housing, another loveLIFE sponsor, will also have representatives taking part. The loveLIFE champions, chosen by campaign supporters Europlas, will also be invited.

Catherine Williams, Torbay Council's community and sports officer, said: "We want to encourage as many clubs and organisations to take part as possible. It's not too late to sign up."

On the main pitch there will be free taster sessions of a variety of sports and then a stage with activities provided by instructors from the Riviera International Conference Centre.

Clubs and activities who want to take part should contact Sports@torbay. gov.uk.
