Tunney clears up with 127 break

THE summer season started in style as Alan Tunney scored a superb 126 clearance in the fourth frame of Premier champions Riley's Q 3-3 draw with Torre Conservative A.

Jason Matthews scored a break of 37 as he won both his frames for Torre.

Preston Cue G took the early lead two-point advantage over the chasing pack after their 6-0 win over Brixham Conservative A.

Ben Francis scored a 41 clearance in the opening frame to guide Riley's B to a 4-2 win over Upton Social A.

Steve Slade got his season off to a flier as he scored a break of 45 in Torquay Squash A 4-2 win over St Annes Q, for whom Darren Smith scored a break of 48 in the opening frame.

Newly promoted Riley's C came from 2-0 down to earn a 3-3 draw with Riley's E.

DIVISION ONE

PALACE Place took the early lead as they bounced back from losing the opening frame to win the next five as they beat Brixham RBL B 5-1. Dan Lewis won the RBL's only frame.

St Anne's B carried their good form over from the previous season as they beat Torquay Squash C 5-1, for whom Marcus Ward was a winner.

Preston Cue E started their season with a win, as they beat Brixham Conservative B 4-2.

Teignmouth RBL A returned to winning ways as Andy Hill scored a break of 28 in their 4-2 win over Preston Conservative C.

Torquay Squash D won the final two frames to beat Torquay Squash B 4-2. Preston Conservative A will be looking for a win in their first match of the season this week, as they play catch-up on the teams above after having a free week.

DIVISION TWO

MID-Devon Constitutional Club B took the early one-point lead in the division as they beat Teignmouth RBL B 5-1, whom Steve Vercoe won their only frame to avoid the whitewash.

Alnardo Folloni scored a break of 22 in the fifth frame as Preston Cue W won the final two frames to beat Preston Cue C 4-2, for whom Dominic Wittwer scored a break of 23 in the fourth as he won both his frames.

Matt Helley scored a break of 22 as Riley's D came back from losing the opening frame to beat St Marychurch Conservative B 4-2.

Hookhills B came from 2-1 down to earn a 3-3 draw with Kirkham Street A, for whom Ian Giles scored a break of 22 in the second frame for his new team.

John Nugent kept up his good form as he had a break of 28, whilst his team mate Julian Nash had a break of 24 as Riley's Z came from 3-1 down to earn a 3-3 draw with Roundham B, for whom Malcolm Carter scored a break of 24 in the third.

Preston Cue H and Preston Cue D shared the points as they drew 3-3 in a hard fought match.

The Hill Cup (U20s) is being held at Riley's this Saturday (11) start, the competition will be played on a round robin basis and entry is £1.
