Tunney tots up the pots as Riley's Q go five clear at top

RILEY'S Q stretched their lead at the top to five points as Alan Tunney compiled breaks of 61 and 31 as they crushed eighth-placed Brixham Cons A 6-0 for the second time this season.

Second-placed St Anne's F fell further behind the leaders despite Darren Smith compiling a break of 42 in the third frame as they beat tenth-placed Preston Cons B 4-2, for whom Adrian Ridley returned to form to win the opening frame.

Andy Neck compiled breaks of 42 and 77 as third-placed Riley's A fell further adrift of the leaders as they drew 3-3 with Central Cons C, who moved up a place to seventh after earning a hard-fought draw.

St Anne's B moved up a place to fourth as they came from 2-1 down to beat Teignmouth RBL A 4-2. The Legion have not won in their last six matches as their early season from has evaporated.

Mid-Devon Cons A slipped a place to fifth as their indifferent form continued as they lost 4-2 to Upton Social A, who moved up a place to sixth after the win.

Preston Cue F remain rooted to the bottom of the table as they had a free week.

DIVISION ONE

RAY Little compiled a break of 30 in the opening frame, but could not stop Riley's E having their lead cut to two points despite beating tenth-placed Torquay Squash B 4-2.

Second-placed Preston Cue G moved a point closer to the leaders as they beat Paignton Cons A 5-1, for whom Richard Miah won the fifth frame to avoid the whitewash.

Torquay Squash D stayed in third place, but are eight points behind the promotion places with a game in hand on the teams above as they had a free week whilst fourth-placed Torquay Squash A moved level with their D team as they came from behind to draw 3-3 with fifth-placed Torquay Squash C.

Preston Cue E moved up to seventh by beating bottom-of-the-table Preston Cons C 4-2, who are 10 points adrift of safety from relegation.

Palace Place B moved up a place to eighth as they beat ninth-placed Brixham RBL A 4-2, for whom Dan Lewis compiled a break of 33 in the fifth frame.

DIVISION TWO

LEADERS Riley's Z had their lead at the top cut to five points as they came from 2-1 down to beat third placed Teignmouth BL B 4-2.

Second-placed Brixham Cons B took full of advantage of their closest rivals playing one another as they pasted Preston Cue H 6-0, who slipped a couple of places to sixth after a heavy defeat.

Kirkham Street A moved up a place to fourth, but had to come from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with seventh-placed Preston Cue D, for whom Lee McArthur junior compiled a break of 26 in the second frame.

Roundham B moved up a place to fifth as they beat bottom of the table Preston Cue C 5-1, for whom Dave Houldsworth won the final frame to avoid the whitewash.

Riley's D stayed in eighth place as they came from 2-1 down to draw with tenth-placed St Marychurch Cons B.
