UPDATE: Police officer recovering after Torquay harbourside incident
A POLICE Community Support Officer injured in an incident in Torquay was recovering at home with back injuries.
The incident happened just before midday on Monday on the Strand near the Debenhams store.

A police spokesman said the man was injured while helping police officers to detain a suspect for shoplifting during an arrest in connection with Operation Action.
The suspect also received an injury to his head and both were taken to Torbay Hospital by ambulance.

The arrested man, aged 30, was from Stockton. Perfume was recovered at scene.
Inspector Adrian Leisk of Torquay police wrote on Twitter: "Thoughts are with an injured colleague who was taken to hospital yesterday after helping detain a violent offender.
"He is now resting at home and thankfully has suffered nothing more than bruising to his back #Torbay #madeoftoughstuff."
Operation Action is a high profile anti-shoplifting initiative, run by local police, working with businesses and partner agencies in the run up to Christmas.
Police said a man had been released on police bail.
