A PAIGNTON teenager has taken up a band's offer for them play in her front room for free.

The offer from McFly support band Stopgosixty was made after their gig at the Riviera International Conference Centre last month.

The only problem is now their appearance in Philippa Marshall's lounge coincides with Radio 1 Starts the Summer festival at nearby Paignton Green — bringing the biggest lineup of acts the town has seen.

"I do have a ticket for the Radio 1 event but we have been able to juggle it," said 17-year-old South Devon College student Philippa.

"The band were handing out free CDs after their gig, with an offer of a free gig if you emailed them.

"I did that and they came back and said yes.

"My dad thought it was a joke at first. Now my parents are really looking forward to it.

"It seems a really good way to do your marketing.

"There will be about 25 of us and we can get to the Radio 1 festival straight afterwards."

Stopgosixty offer to play at any fan's house if they can get more than 15 guests together.

“@nicold- Have you ever heard of acoustic set? Apparently it seems not to be as noisy ;)”

“That sort of noise travels a long way, not to mention the vibration, so I imagine people living in the vicinity will have to suffer! There are appropriate places for these sort of concerts.

It would be bad enough having a well known band playing in a house, let alone one no one's ever heard of!”

“I hope the young lady enjoys her day to the full. Sure will be an experience for her, and hopefully the HE will be there to snap and report as it happens.

I say, 'by nicold' You actually know the neighbours?”
