TORQUAY ladies invitation day was the usual popular affair with visitors from across the county and beyond.

With reasonably benign conditions and a fourball betterball format there was everything to play for and in the event a countback was needed to decide the result.

Sue Bradford found sparkling form to accompany her Stover partner Muriel Liddle, and their back nine of 23 pipped Karen Hough and Exeter's Shirley Mason on countback.

Meanwhile, Torquay Golf Club played out the Easterbook Cup Competition in glorious sunshine on Saturday, a trophy which was constituted 79 years ago.

The Trophy winner was Robbie Thompson, a young man who has recently made a habit of winning in all aspects of golf.
