Man of the match Joe Pilbeam broke from the back of the maul and dived in for his first try for the team. White converted.

With Newton on the back foot, Brixham pair Jordan Kennard and White started to run some good lines.

Newton held out until a sniping run from Maitland Criddle found a gap. White added the conversion for 14-0 at half time.

Brixham were under pressure after the break until a scintillating break by White led to another try, which he duly converted.

Newton pulled a try back, but Brixham weren't finished. The forwards, led well by Dylan Ravenscroft, took play into Newton territory where White appeared to finish things off. He also converted.

Kennard, who had been a thorn in Newton's side, finally got the try he deserved, White converted.

Brixham entertain Teignmouth this Sunday (11am).

EARLY season concerns about how the All Whites would make the transition from nine-a-side to 12- a-side proved well founded as the first game of the season saw Newton Abbot U11's beaten by five tries to one at Withycombe.

Jacob Gale had opened the scoring for the visitors, but with a very small squad Newton were unable to rotate their players, unlike Withies.

Hugo Longrigg and Jake Davey's double miss pass gave Ben Schaefer the chance to run and moments later Longrigg's break allowed Harry Langabeer the space to make serious inroads into Withy territory.

Jo Forey turned in a solid performance in his first game at full-back.

PAIGNTON U14s beat Torquay 14-7 thanks to a late try from Harry Law which Riley Fletcher converted.

Paignton started at a very good pace with Reece Titherington going over after 10 minutes to score the first try. Jamie Morrison converted.

Torquay levelled it in the second half.

Paignton then made a last ditch attempt with Harry Law scoring a try converted by Riley Fletcher to end the game 14-7.
