His wife Sue explained in a thank you letter, sent to the company a few days later: "It is no exaggeration to say that I simply could not have managed without them.
"In no way could I have done all that they did and neither did I have their impressive and up-to-date knowledge of first aid."

Gary Morris, Darren Back and Andrew Smerdon were on their way to a job when they noticed Mike on the floor.
Without a second thought, Darren pulled up, quickly followed by Gary and Andrew.
Mr Smerdon said: "We could see they needed help so we assisted with some first aid and called an ambulance.
"We waited with Mike and Sue until the ambulance crew arrived as it was quite a stressful situation for them both.
"We popped back after work to see how they were doing and it turned out Mike had a broken fibula that required an operation.
"It is good to see him looking so well now and recovering from his injury."
Asked about their new hero status in the local office, Darren said: "We are sure anyone would have done the same thing."
The couple were so grateful that they commissioned a cake for the trio.
