Yacht club dinner to celebrate Trafalgar Day
TORBAY Hospital League of Friends' Wellswood district celebrated Trafalgar Day with a dinner at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club.
Guests of honour at the dinner were the High Sheriff of Devon Robin Barlow and his wife Sue, and Captain Jerry Kyd, RN, of the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.

They were 'piped aboard' by members of the Torbay Sea Scouts, commanded by Lt (SCC) Stephen Skingle, RNR.
The annual dinner to celebrate Britain's greatest ever naval battle, on October 20, 1805, is one of the Wellswood district's largest fundraisers.

Organiser Lynne Hookings said: "Everyone had a great time and the two guest speakers were particularly interesting — even giving us new insights into the Battle of Trafalgar.
"We haven't had a final figure yet, but we think we're raised in excess of £1,500 profit for the league."
