Congratulations

I would like to Congratulate Torbay Council on it's ability to provide yet another empty shop doorway for the Drug Addicts and drunks to shelter under in the Town Centre by assiting HMV ibn their decision to close that store. It will be good for the reducing Tourist trade to be able to wander up Union Street and remember fondly the past glory of Torquay as they gaze into the empty shop windows, pass the seemingly endless charity shops and step over the dog poo. Of course for a real treat the visitor can, in the evening, stand and gaze in wonderment at the spectical that is Rock Walk and Torquay's version of Blackpool lights along the seafront, after which if they are so inclined they can promonade around the harbour and mix with the drunks as they merrily throw up into the harbour or any other conveniant spot, This is what is called the thriving 'Nightime Economy' and you can be assured it goes safely into the bank accounts of non Torbay Residence. Oh forgoodness sake Torbay WAKE UP and become the place you once were, A top holiday spot where people want to be, and want to live. From Dumbfounded, Torquay

Get in the know with the Herald Express!

Awkward, isn’t it? Being stood around a water cooler, unable to comment on the latest local news story. Attempting to nod at the right times, shamelessly pretending you know what’s going on. Shifting conspicuously from side to side, praying the conversation moves on before you’re asked for an opinion.

If only you’d picked up the Herald Express last Thursday. With the Herald Express, it could have all been so different!

Since 1925, the Herald Express has been the most trusted, established, widely read and authoritative local newspaper on all things South Devon.

That’s news, sport, jobs, property, motors, classifieds and all the latest buzz in the area.

With three area-specific editions available, the Herald Express presents what’s happening where you are and fills you in with everything you need to know without boring you with anything irrelevant.

And all of this will cost you not a penny more than £1.

So do yourself a favour and get clued in by heading down to your local newsagent or supermarket and picking up a copy of the Herald Express.

Do so this Thursday, or face yet another week of awkward water cooler moments.
