Five out of five may not clinch it!
A PERFECT record of five wins from five games may not be perfect enough to win January's League Two Manager Of The Month award for Torquay United boss Martin Ling.
Ling has been nominated for the prize, after his Gulls beat Plymouth Argyle, Macclesfield Town and Morecambe, all 2-1 away, and then came back to Plainmoor to overcome Dagenham & Redbridge and Northampton Town, both 1-0.
But Ling is up against Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio and Barnet's Lawrie Sanchez.
Both the Robins and Bees won all four of their league games in January.
And Swindon also knocked Premier League Wigan Athletic out of the FA Cup, before losing at Leicester City in the Fourth Round.
The winner of the award will be announced tomorrow.
NEW DATE: United's League Two match away to Rotherham, postponed last weekend, has been rearranged for Tuesday, March 13 (7.45pm).
It will fall between the final Westcountry derby of the season at home to Bristol Rovers (March 10) and a trip to Burton Albion (March 17).
LEGENDS AT HOMERS: It may feel as if Torquay United have 'taken over' Buckland Athletic later this month.
On Tuesday, February 21, at Newton Abbot's Homers Heath there's the Westinsure Devon St. Luke's Cup quarter-final between Buckland and the Gulls (7.45pm).
And there, 24 hours later (Feb 22), former Gulls favourites Chris Hargreaves, Chris Todd, Kevin Hill and Robin Stubbs will be featured guests at a Night Of Legends evening.
It's a charity affair with Todd's personal cause, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, high on the agenda.
Tickets, at £10 to include a buffet, are available from organiser Louise Shaw on 07789 902182 or via email on saffishaw@hotmail.co.uk
JANUARY MAN: Gulls defender Mark Ellis has been nominated, along with Swindon captain Paul Caddis and Barnet forward Ricky Holmes, for the npower League Two Player Of The Month for January.
That award will be announced tomorrow.
Ellis will also be a leading candidate for United's own January PoM poll, voting for which closes at 9am tomorrow.
That winner will be announced at Saturday's home game against Shrewsbury Town.
