Former club boss charged
A FORMER Torquay nightclub licensee has been charged with intent to pervert the course of justice.
Nathan Towersey, formerly an area manager for Lifestyle Enterprises in Torquay and designated premises supervisor at Mambo's nightclub on the harbourside, is charged that on May 10 with intent to pervert the course of justice, he concealed from the police a breach of the conditions of the licence for Mambo's Club which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice.
It follows an incident on May 10 when a 19-year-old boy was allegedly glassed by a suspected underage drinker.
Subsequently, Torbay Council's licensing committee suspended Mambo's licence. James Eyre, managing director of the Lifestyle Hospitality Group, said: "Nathan resigned for his own reasons in May. We have a new licensee and new management team."
