Two fire engines were called to Bradley Lane in Newton Abbot in the early hours of Sunday morning following reports of an alarm sounding and a smell of smoke.

On arrival at the scene just after 5am they found there had been a small fire in the kitchen area of a house.

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said the fire was out on arrival and there was no damage to the property.
