STREWTH mate! Ashes cricket being played in March – what in the name of a Sheila's going on?

But things aren't always what they seem. When England play Australia at Babbacombe CC this Sunday afternoon (2pm) it won't be for THE Ashes but on behalf of the charity Sports Relief.

England, skippered by W C Graceless, will be taking on the Aussie upstarts under the captaincy of Bruce McFoster.

Graceless, otherwise known as Richard Blagden of the Cavendish Cavaliers CC, intends to take a liveried waiter out with him while fielding, not doubt to do the gentleman's gentleman stuff.

Rival captain McFoster, better known as Cavendish team-mate Kevin Johns, said both teams will be in appropriate fancy dress for the occasion.

He added: "We will be battling it out for glory, entertainment and some sponsorship money for a good cause.

"It promises to be a fun match and even if the cricket isn't spectacular the tea will be!"

Start time at Walls Hill is 2pm and play will go on until it gets dark.
