“It is pointless posting a reply on here as any posts that are critical of the herald are removed very quickly. The truth is out there, just not in the Herald.”

“Not worth £1 at all. Good to see they have to offer something for the kids to sell a paper.”

“I thought the Herald sacked some of the staff to save the editors job? They must be desperate to sell the paper if they have sweet to give away too”

“This really bugs me. They give sweeties etc to people who randomly buy a paper. Me, who has a paper ordered every night and has done for 43 years never gets a thing :-(”

“I agree with Frankenstein, One of my posts that's critical of the editorial has been removed. They can dish it out these reporters but they can't take it, free speech as long as its the right kind of free speech.”

“But is it a huge success going weekly? 20k copies six times a week was 120k newspapers sold every week. The weekly version sells 30k . It may make economic sense for the media group but it is not a success in terms of newspaper circulation whatever is said by their PR. Rumor has it that the initial print run for the weekly edition was 50k, if that is no it is clearly not achieving expectations. There's unsold copies at my news agents every Wednesday”

“What's the point of a weekly local paper? The news isn't even fresh for 1 day. Anything interesting that happens in the bay gets known about via radio or word of mouth or social networking. I "accidentally" bought the first weekly out of habit but I haven't bought one since. Shame, I used to like having a daily read. I can't see the advertisers liking it either, companies or public.”
