“Were there any road gritters out last night? It was bitterly cold and the first true frost of the winter, yet it didn't look like the roads had been treated?

In time gone by, the gritters would have been out in force "if it was a tad nippy". Is this an indication of the limited funds the council has?

Truth be known, I reckon that we were always a little premature in the past when it came to this and then surprise, surprise, when the weather turned really bad, inevitably, the rock salt stocks would have been depleted! :o)”
