Company quartermaster Sgt Green has just qualified for his Btec first diploma in public services, which could lead to advanced courses and eventually a degree.
Detachment Commander, Second Lt Neil Luscombe explained: "This a relatively new qualification offered free by the cadet vocational qualification organisation and is equivalent to four GCSEs at A* to C grade. It's an internationally respected qualification, earned after two years of study and evaluation. We're very proud of his hard work."
Adam, a trainee carpenter at South Devon College, had to concentrate on leadership, teamwork, communications, problem-solving and fitness.
The syllabus has been designed to improve valuable life skills and to develop the knowledge needed by people who want to work in the armed services or police.
Second Lt Luscombe added: "Adam plans to stay on with the army cadets when he reaches 18 and become an adult instructor, so this qualification will help him in both his civilian job and as an adult instructor.
"We are always keen to welcome new members."
