Students' different shot of world

Monday, June 29, 2009, 08:57

PHOTOGRAPHY students at Teignmouth Community College have taken a different look at the rural world.

Art and photography students accompanied teacher Ellie Howard out for a day on a farm, along with other colleges in the area.

The day was organised by John Bradford, an advanced skills teacher at South Dartmoor Community College.

The students worked with photographer Chris Chapman.

The day started with a talk about the workings of the camera and Chris gave some hints and tips.

When they had finished they went back to South Dartmoor Community College and used the computers to view, evaluate and edit the photographs.

Miss Howard said: "Chris put such a different perspective on their work, from a working photographer's point of view.

"He clearly loves his craft and teaching and was an inspiration to our students.

"I am convinced the students will be able to demonstrate improved and innovative photography skills as a result of this day."
