Fire at electricity sub-station in Chilcote Close Torquay.
FIRE crews from Torquay were sent to deal with a blaze at a sub-station in St Marychurch, Torquay, on Friday morning.
Smoke was issuing from the electrical sub station in Chilcote Close, St Marychurch.
Two appliances were mobilised to attend the incident.
When they arrived crews discovered smoke issuing from the high voltage sub station. Crews had to wait for the power supply to be isolated before starting fire fighting duties.

A Western Power Distribution engineer was already there and had logged the initial call.
Crews used two breathing apparatus, thermal imaging camera, positive pressure ventilation, a compressed air foam covering jet, and one covering jet to extinguish the fire.
The fire involved switch gear and cabling within the sub station
