TOPS show will be a real Beauty

TORQUAY Operatic Society, the longest existing operatic society in Torbay, have ambitiously chosen Disney's Beauty and The Beast as their next production.

TOPS have been successful in securing the rights to the show and will be the very first nonprofessional company in South Devon to perform the musical.

A spokesman said: "We are absolutely delighted to be facing the challenge this show provides, with its amazing technical effects and the theatrical challenge of replicating in human form characterisations originally performed in animation.

"The show is not a pantomime, it is based on a traditional fairy tale.

"Auditions are about to take place and TOPS are looking for people to take part.

"This is a great opportunity for local talent to be the first to take on the roles in this show in South Devon.

"Anyone who wishes to take part will need to audition as a member for TOPS and to attend workshops."
