In the Ballroom of Oldway Mansion, Paignton.
Torbay Jubilee Choir and Spectrum Music are appearing in a concert of music in the Ballroom at Oldway Mansion on Saturday 10th November. This may be the last concert in the Ballroom before the Mansion closes for redevelopment.
The concert will consist of popular music relating to the theme of War, Peace and Remembrance including such favourites as the Dambusters March, David of the White Rock, and the theme from the Great Escape.
The concert, which is in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, will finish with the band and choir together in a finale including the hymn "Jerusalem".
Torbay Jubilee Choir was formed this year in response for a request for a choir to sing at the Civic Jubilee Service, and consists of local singers and musicians who come together for individual events. Many of them are also members of some of the more established choirs in the bay.
Spectrum Music is an established concert band based in Kingskerswell, who play regularly all around South Devon at such events as the Dartmouth Regatta and the Summer Moon Festival.
Tickets are £8 and are available now by calling 01803 394076 or 07966 428898.
Jane Anderson-Brown will be conducting both groups on the evening.
