A new exhibition opens this Friday 8th March at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey. The launch event at 6pm will offer evening dining (book 01626 831959), free wine and nibbles and formal opening with speeches.
'Transplantation' is a touring exhibition of unusual, wearable jewellery by makers based in Britain and Australia. 12 exhibitors present contemporary designs - sculptural, textured and decorative brooches or neckpieces which combine traditional materials and mixed media, such as: silver, enamel, kangaroo fur, biscuit tin and ermine feathers. The pieces tell stories - through shape, object and symbols - of the makers' own heritage and roots, their journeying, and migration. There is a free curator tour in the gallery at 10.15am on Saturday 9 March.
FREE. Open daily. 10am-5.30pm. 01626 832223
