The Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer will be holding their second annual swim around Burgh Island on Sunday, September 2nd.
It is hoped that around 120 swimmers will take part and complete the mile long swim and help raise both funds for and awareness of prostate cancer.
The Burgh Island swim is one of the most spectacular in the UK and can be quite a challenge, so participants will need to have experience of open water swimming and can complete a distance of around 100 lengths of a 25m pool.
Event Water Safety will provide all the necessary craft and expert cover for the swim. EWS do the safety cover for lots of big swims across the UK and were our safety team in 2011.
Registration for this event is £30 and we ask participating swimmers to raise the minimum of £50 for the Chestnut Appeal. The £30 registration will cover some of the costs of the safety team and will include an event t-shirt and swim cap and an end of swim snack.
