The historic successes which put the town on the map
TOTNES' trading successes are at the forefront of the latest exhibition on offer at the town's museum when it opens later this month.
Making and Trading in Totnes is the name of the exhibition which has been set up in the museum building's Mitchell Room.
Judy Westacott said: "Did you know that a prototype bubble car was made in Totnes? While it was unsuccessful you will find exhibits celebrating what we did get right — milk, cider, slate, toffee, clocks. There are also references to Reeves timber industry and the bacon factory."
The museum is open to the public from Monday.
The Totnes Guildhall will be opening its door on Tuesday, April 6.
Miss Westacott pointed out that joint museum/Guildhall tickets will be available so that 'visitors can step back in time and appreciate the things which made Totnes the town it is today'.
