AN EXCELLENT week of catches saw many anglers who visited Town Parks Fishery returning for more sport.

Both lakes fished well with many anglers reporting personal bests as well as heavy bags!

The top Match Lake produced numerous 100lb-plus bags from various pegs, although the dam wall pegs produced the most constant sport.

Carp to the 12lb-mark fell to pellet offered mid-water from the dam with some anglers taking up to 15 carp an hour!

Bream showed in numbers falling to corn fished on the bottom.

Peg three saw the best of the bream action with anglers fishing short of the island banking 'hundreds' of fish.

The Specimen Lake returned to normal after the recent spawning with carp taking sweet and fruity baits from mid-water and the margins.

Callum Rosendale fished peg six after a fruitless four-day visit elsewhere and enjoyed excellent sport, banking six carp and catfish to 23lbs 8oz

Rosendale's fish fell to sweet flavoured boilies offered in the margins.

Mark Hughes fished cell pop ups from peg 16 and took five carp in quick succession including a 22lbs 8oz ghostie and a common of 23lbs 7oz.

Cornwall rod Guy Bradford made one of his regular visits to peg 10 and had his best session to date, taking a personal best catfish of 24lbs 3oz and numerous carp to 21lbs 2oz.

Most of Bradford's fish fell for luncheon meat fished towards the main island.

Catfish came to the bank in numbers throughout the week with many anglers taking their first, and for some their personal best fish from various pegs.

Luncheon meat and large halibut pellet proved successful.

Tench have continued to come to the bank mostly in the 6-8lb range.

THE season ticket water at Emperor Lakes was closed for most of the week due to heavy spawning so reported captures are limited.

The only reported captures were, Oisin Riley with a beautiful common of 29-14 and a tench of 6lbs, both on Pallatrax baits, and Dave Reekie with a 27-12 common.

At the other end of the scale, the Day Ticket water was busy, despite spasmodic spawning.

Peter Fox took an English personal best common of 27-14, a tench of 6-01 and a catfish which bottomed out his scales at 57lbs.

Adam Sloman landed a PB catfish of 46-02, and Andy Sweatland took a 37lb mirror, plus a catfish of 49-04. James Gurney had commons of 22-14 and 18-02, a catfish of 20-06 and a ghostie of 15-02.

Phil Jakes took a mirror of 31lbs, two mid-teen commons and an eel of 3-08, and Tony Kingsley landed 21lb common and three eels to 2lb+.

Brian Male had a 20-04 ghostie, Clint Miller landed a 20-04 common and James Hubble reported a common of 15-08.

Amiees Pool continues to fish very well.

Stuart Johnson and Jamie Parr both took mixed bags of more tan 70lbs wile Martin Lamburn had a 60lb-plus bag.
