Six injured in collision with cars and ambulance
SIX people were taken to hospital following a crash involving a patient transport ambulance on one of South Devon's busiest roads.
The three vehicle collision, which also involved a red Renault Clio and Silver Citroen, caused traffic chaos.
The main Newton Abbot to Torquay road was closed and traffic in the surrounding road network brought to a standstill after the accident at Kingskerswell at 3.45pm on Tuesday.
A spokesman from South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust added: "We can confirm one of the trust's vehicles was involved in the collision, but at this stage we cannot confirm any details regarding the nature of the incident.

Four ambulances attended the incident.
Police said two members of the health trust staff, two patients and a person travelling with one of the patients in the transport vehicle were taken to hospital. A person from one of the other vehicles was also taken to Torbay.
Sgt Glenn Bullock, who attended the scene, said he vehicle was going from Torbay to Newton Abbot hospital. One person suffered a minor head injury. The others were taken to hospital as a precaution. The road was reopened shortly before 5.45pm.
