Are they above the law?

I HEAR that several hunts have taken place all over the country despite the hunting ban, so do I take it that anybody anywhere can go out and break the law, or is it just these rather stupid people, who find pleasure in taking dogs out to kill poor defenceless animals, think they are above the law and can do just as they please?

I only hope the enforcement officers will place a summons on every single person who took part in the hunt and fine them as much as possible and then let the proceeds of such fines go to animal cruelty charities.

“I think you are both missing the point here. These were not illegal hunts. The many, well supported, meets which took place across the UK on Boxing Day and New Year's Day were all within the new Hunting Act. It is not illegal to hold a meet and to follow a trail, but it is to hunt a wild mammal with dogs.”

“What does it say about these people who look for every loophole or even worse ignore or bend the law so they can indulge their bloodlust. They belong in the dark ages with bear baiters etc. Why is it that illegal dogfights etc are perceived to be a working man's pursuit and hunting an upper class one? They are all blood thirsty barbarians.”
