A three-day visit by dance group Flava to Westlands School ended on a high note with a performance involving students and members of the group.
The hip-hop dancers, who were finalists in the recent BBC series Britain's Got Talent, were special guests taking part in a Devon and Cornwall Police initiative to inspire youngsters to get active and boost self-confidence.
Students were asked their views on a number of different issues including youth behaviour and body language and took part in workshops.
PC Sara Gregory, based at Westlands School, said: "Westlands School was the first to take part in this project.
"The reaction has been great and hopefully we will be taking this initiative to other schools.
"The exercise was to explore how people look at youngsters and how sometimes body language can give out the wrong message.
"Flava gave a demonstration and workshop working with 11 to 15 year olds. The result was really successful."
Parents, sixth form students and members of the Torbay police attended the hour-long performance which included demonstrations of hip-hop, lyrical and break-dancing.
