JULIAN BRINGS THE BLUES TO INDEPENDENCE DAY

Friday, July 10, 2009, 09:04

BLUES man Julian Piper entertained a crowd at Riviera Live's America's Independence Day celebration.

The free musical medley took place at Princess Gardens on Torquay seafront.

First up to tread the boards was local vocalist Jason Abrahams and the Neil Maya Swing Quartet.

They were followed by a USA-inspired blues band headed by Exeter musician Julian Piper.

Julian spent time living in Louisiana where he was quickly accepted by the local blues community and performed alongside BB King.

C J Jackson and Beach Boys tribute band Good Vibrations also played at the event.
