TWO vehicles collided and ended up on their roofs near Totnes yesterday.

The accident, involving a blue Nissan Micra and a sliver Renault Megan, happened on the A385 just after 4.30pm and blocked both sides of the carriageway.

Police set up a diversion through Berry Pomeroy as ambulance crews checked out the motorists and the vehicles were recovered.

The road was closed for around an hour and a half.

Fire crews were also called to the scene with one crew from Totnes and one crew form Paignton attending.

A DIVER was air-lifted to hospital after suffering medical problems on surfacing.

Coastguards say the 55-year-old woman was diving off Start Point when she surfaced after a normal ascent and got into difficulties.

She was airlifted from the dive boat Jennifer Ann just after 2pm on Sunday and taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.

THREE fire crews fought a barn fire on Friday evening. About 30 bales of hay and straw were destroyed in the blaze which happened at Little Haccombe Farm in Coffinswell just before midnight. Two crews from Torquay and one from Newton Abbot attended. They used two main jets and one hose reel. The barn was slightly damaged.

BRIXHAM coastguard was called to a boat firing distress flares.

The small vessel, Sir Chrispin of Dartmouth, suffered fuel pump failure with six passengers on board.

Just after 7pm on Saturday it fire red flares.

Dive boat Falcon towed the vessel to Warfleet Creek Dartmouth.

LIFEBOAT crews were called to a boat with its engine running and no one on board.

Brixham coastguards located the boat's owner, who was unaware the engine was still running.

The emergency call was received just before 2pm on Saturday.

THREE people were rescued after two inflatables blew offshore in Torquay.

The harbour authority escorted the inflatables into Torre Abbey Sands where Torbay Coastguard gave safety advice.

The incident happened just after 3.30pm on Saturday.

DARTMOUTH coastguard and inshore lifeboat assisted a boat with engine failure.

The yacht Anticipation had two people on board when the engines failed at the entrance to the River Dart.

Coastguard received the call just before 7.30pm on Saturday.

DARTMOUTH's harbour boat confirmed the safety of a man on board a yacht.

The man was aboard the yacht Tilly Win on Old Mill Creek when his wife became concerned for his safety.

He was confirmed to be safe and well just after 2.30pm on Sunday.
