Book signing by tramp who changed his life

Thursday, October 16, 2008, 08:51

A FORMER homeless drunk who dramatically turned his life around is coming to Newton Abbot for a book signing.

Sandy Donaghy wrote The Longest Journey after his life experiences took him to his lowest ebb.

In 1985 Mr Donaghy was a homeless drunken tramp living on the streets of Devon, but his life transformed when he was taken by a church to a halfway house in Plymouth.

He joined Alcoholics Anonymous and trained with the Central School of Counselling in London to become a qualified therapist.

He says his book offers 'nine keys' which anyone can follow for health, wealth and happiness.

He will be signing copies of the book today at The Mitre bookshop from 10am until 2pm.
