Three killed in road smash

THREE people were killed in a road accident in South Devon on Saturday night. Police said two 18=year-old males and a nine-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The crash happened at around 11pm on the A379 Plymouth to Kingsbridge road at Aveton Gifford. No other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed on Sunday morning while investigations were carried out.
