PAIGNTON-BASED celtic foot stompers Paddy's Whiskers are delighted to welcome bass guitarist Simon Field to their line up.

Simon, who lives in Brixham, is a professional musician who has toured widely across the UK playing jazz, folk and rock.

Andrew Robinson, from Paddy's Whiskers, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have Simon on board. He's a great musician and he has slotted right in to our line up — giving Paddy's Whiskers' high-powered Irish and Celtic sound a new and funky warmth and depth.

"He made his debut with us two weeks ago at the Teignmouth Folk Festival and the gig was a roaring success."

There are three opportunities to hear Simon playing with Paddy's Whiskers this weekend starting with a free gig at the Lansdowne in Dawlish at 9pm tonight.

On Saturday the Whiskers are performing on Paignton Harbourside from 1pm as part of Riviera Live and on Sunday they are playing at 3.30pm at the Preston Picnic — a free community event taking place on the Green at Preston Sea Front.
