A RARE poster for a concert in Torquay by The Who which never took place was sold for £1,875 at an auction in London.

Before the auction, at Christie's South Kensington, experts predicted that the poster would sell for between £2,000 and £3,000.

It was eventually snapped up for less than that by a mystery bidder.

The poster was produced for a scheduled visit to Torquay by The Who on August 27,1965.

But for some reason the show was cancelled and instead The Who performed that day at the Rang-A-Tang Club in Basingstoke.
