£12k chairs for hospital
MEMBERS of Torbay Hospital League of Friends have paid a visit to Cromie ward to see the new reclining chairs they have funded.
Following a request by Sharon Boyne, matron of gastrointestinal services, the League provided £11,426 to enable the hospital to buy 12 reclining chairs to improve the comfort of visitors staying overnight to be with sick patients.

Matron Pat Searle and Allison Richards (pictured front) proudly showed the new chairs which have been allocated to various wards within the hospital, to be available when necessary.
Allison said "We are very grateful to the League for buying us these chairs which are so useful for relatives who have to stay overnight.
