Officers have launched an appeal for witnesses and want to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
"This was without a doubt a planned incident as they would have needed a van or vehicle to transport the boots," said DI Mark Norman.

"They knew exactly what they were doing."
The company was founded in 1981 and supplies sports wear to professional sporting stars and customers around the world.
It also sponsors many local sports events and groups.
It has personalised boots for football stars, including Ryan Giggs and John Terry.
DI Norman added: "The thieves got in through the rear of the property and gained access to the warehouse. Then they got into various parts of the building.
"This an unusual crime. We will be looking in the obvious places to try to catch those responsible, but they could well have gone to the continent or straight on the motorway and to somewhere in the UK."
"If people locally hear of any boots being sold or people in the trade hear anything, we would like to speak to them."
Pro Direct did not want to comment on the break-in which happened overnight last Thursday.
Anyone with information on the incident should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting: JN12 3319.
