But while it was rainier it was also sunnier and the Bay was the sunniest place in the country on five days.
The sunshine total of 141 hours was an average of 4.6 hours per day, compared with 95.1 hours last year and the long term average of 77.5 hours (an average of 2.5 hours per day).
The average maximum temperature was 13.8C (58F), compared with 13.5C last year and the long-term average of 11.5C.
The average overnight temperature was also warmer at 9.7C (49F), up on last year's 9C and well up on the long-term average of 5.5C (41F).
