Thousands saw the Olympic torch pass on the epic journey across South Devon on both the first and second days of its national journey.

Muse crossed the bridge with the flame from Shaldon to Teignmouth and Fearne Cotton lit up the skies in Paignton.

Almost 10,000 people took to Paignton Green as Radio One officially declared the start of the summer with a massive concert. Unfortunately, it would then turn out to be one of the wettest summers on record.

Olympic joy swept through South Devon as the country hosted the world's biggest sporting event.

Not only did the hosting of the event exceed expectations but so did the record medal haul.

Hundreds of people in South Devon have also made 2012 their healthiest and happiest year yet, by joining our loveLIFE campaign.
