TAS Devils notched up a great win over Harbourway Hawks 36-29 with GK Mel Brown for TAS and GS Laura Harris having a great battle on court and securing player of the match for their respective teams.
Eagles played a blinder to beat Centrax 47-22 with 14-year-old Naomi Passmore at centre not putting a foot wrong with lovely passes into her shooter. Her sister Mel was named player of the match to complete a family triumph!
Twinkle Toes were not only light on their feet but also light in numbers as they took to the court with just six players. Despite this they went on to beat Music Cafe 36-16.
Twinkle Toes owe a debt to Emily West for her precision shooting, making every opportunity count to accelerate their lead and secury their victory.
Foremost Ltd's 35-19 victory over Tornado Bobcats elevated them four places this week as GS Marilyn Redmond's exceptional shooting skills kept them ahead at every quartere. The entire team played well but Marilyn just had the edge for Player of the Match. The Bobcats by no means disgraced themselves and Emmie Lee excelled as a constructive player, setting up a lot of the scoring opportunities .
Ark Angels' 46-26 victory over South Devon College was marred by concern for the 'mother hen' of the team Jean Mayes who was involved in a very nasty collision with team mate Carly Gibbs.
Jean was knocked to the floor in the third quarter and had to leave the court with three minutes left.
A few familiar faces resurfaced from retirement for SDC who all played exceptionally well and provided nothing but encouragement for the junior members of the team.
SDC walked away with a much deserved point and the Angels walked away with another win but hoping their best player won't be missing with injury next time out.
