THE top scout from a former Soviet Republic travelled thousands of miles to visit her counterparts in Torbay.

Shorena Lomadze, chairman of the Georgian Scouts National Committee, visited England to see the 11th Torbay Sea Scout Group.

Her ambition was to meet with sea scout leaders so she could take new ideas back to her homeland.

The visit was planned around the 100 years of sea scouting celebration.
