TORBAY'S biggest pyjama party is filling up fast for its second year running raising funds for Rowcroft Hospice.

The Sleep Walk has already signed up 1,700 women who will walk around the streets at night for charity.

Now the charity wants other adventurous spirits to join the all-woman walk and take the money raised to record levels.

The walk is taking place on Saturday, July 21. This year, it will commemorate the hospice's 30th anniversary.

There are 3,000 places on the walk.

Laura Carus, event manager, said. "We are amazed by the response but would so love to see more ladies taking part.

"It is a unique night and this year we have a less hilly route, with the option to walk five, 10 or 15 miles. The atmosphere on the night is always incredible."

The Sleep Walk is a sponsored night walk open to women aged 12 and over.

"We need more than 200 volunteers to ensure the night runs smoothly so we are on the look out for willing people, both men and women aged 16 or over to sign up and support the walk," said Laura.

To sign up to walk or volunteer, log on to www.rowcroftsleepwalk.org.uk or call 01803 217641.

“All the money in the world will not change what Torbay is...A rat hole!.. Full of drug addicts, jobless scummers, used needles, moaning locals and dog poop..”

“Presumably the money raised will be used to offset the obscene £200,000 that was used to re-brand the place?”
