THREE of South Devon Athletic Club's middle-distance runners produced good performances in the British Milers Club 800m races at Exeter.

Rich Wallace celebrated the award of his degree with a well-paced run in the men's C race.

Staying with the pace-maker, Wallacae maintained his effort down the home straight to finish fourth in 2.00.2, his best performance of the season and tantalisingly close to the two-minute barrier.

Fifteen-year-old Torquay Boys Grammar pupil Tom Stockley continued his progress with another blast round the two laps in the D race.

Sticking firmly to his race plan, Tom kicked hard with 200m to go and came home second in a new PB of 2.03.5.

Mike Shute's return to racing after his final A level exam at Torquay Boys' Grammar School showed a lot of promise for future performances.

Kicking hard at the bell, Mike swept into a clear lead to finish first in 2.11.4, well inside his pre-race target of 2.15.0.
