Top spot for Blake on oars
THERE were numerous standout performances from Kingsbridge Community College students at the Devon and Cornwall Indoor Rowing Championships.
Twenty students took part in the championships at Marjons College in Plymouth.

After taking part for their tutor group in the college's Superstars competition, the students were selected to row the qualifying distance in order to compete at the championships.
More than 470 competitors took part and the Kingsbridge contingent showed up well with many beating their previous distances.

Year eight student Charlotte Blake came first in her section after rowing an exceptional 774 metres in three minutes – more than 10 metres further than her 43 rivals.
Sam Dod, Lottie Sutherland, Jacob Collinson and Devon Jewsbury all beat their previous distances.
PE teacher Helen Pring said: "All the students rowed fantastically well, they are a credit to the college with their positive attitudes and performances."
