First training session for football programme
TEIGNMOUTH Community School are holding the first training session for the September intake for their joint Football and Education Development Programme on Tuesday (March 19).
The course, run in conjunction with Exeter City FC, boasts that it offers a first-class education while at the same time giving students the chance to train and compete in a professional football environment.
The school are recruiting students for their September 2013 intake, with training for Year 11 and 12 students taking place on the school's AstroTurf on Tuesday from 6-7pm.
Students will need to bring full playing kit, flat artificial turf trainers and shin pads. This event will also provide an opportunity for students to discuss all aspects of the programme.

All students enrolling on the programme will be trained by professional coaches for up to six hours a week, while also competing in the British Colleges football league. Students will still be allowed to play for their own club sides.
The full-time two-year courses underpin playing performance with opportunities to access all levels of further education pathways, including BTEC Nationals, A-Levels and NVQ Level 2s. Students will also be able to play an active role in their local communities by providing industry-recognised coaching and refereeing qualifications.
