SEASONAL yuletide cheer is set to be in abundance at the Babbacombe Theatre, Torquay, as their production, Christmas Starlight, hits the stage.

Traditional songs, instantly recognisable and many of them classics, will be a part of the show, as will highlights from West End favourites Jesus Christ Superstar, Sister Act and Starlight Express.

Audience participation is encouraged, so get into the holiday spirit and join in with the songs you know, while preparing yourselves for some side splitting comedy antics.

A spokesman for the show said: "There will be a few that draw on the comedy heritage this nation boasts and putting in an appearance will be seven little people who only ever seem to show up at Christmas, and as per usual they will cause mayhem galore, but all in the spirit of the season.

"Regular headliners and Babbacombe favourites make a welcome return. Favourite funny man Andy Oakley is joined by vocalists Holly Cosgrove (The Voice) and Eloise Cole (X Factor), all round popular entertainers Elmer and Sampson, as well as the magician Peter Baffles, who while mesmerising you with his illusions, will have you laughing out loud.

"Their wealth of experience and versatility is undoubtedly what makes them so popular with you all."

The show has been written and directed by producer Colin Matthews.

The spokesman added: "He has scripted what promises to be another hit show. Previous audience goers will have come to rely on it and newcomers to the venue will be surprised that variety theatre is current as well as a tradition which lends itself so well to the technological age we live in now."

There will be 20 performance between now and New Year's day.
